Hyundai Accent Safety Features
Sophisticated safety features come standard.
Don't be fooled by its size. The Accent is the subcompact that provides standard active safety systems which react quickly and predictably to help you avoid an accident.
Six Standard Airbags1
Six airbags1 provide additional all-round protection. One for the driver, one for the front-seat passenger, two curtain airbags running the length of the cabin, plus two side airbags.
Vehicle Stability Management
The Vehicle Stability Management system comprises a network of safety features for the Accent. VSM monitors and coordinates advanced safety systems like Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS)2 to make sure they are all working in sync, maximizing their effectiveness.
Front Active Head Restraints
Standard on the Accent are front active head restraints. In the event of a rear-end collision, the restraints move forward before your head moves back, providing added protection against whiplash. As well, adjustable head restraints and 3-point seatbelts are standard for each seating position.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
ABS is a big deal in the city and on the highway. This system helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking to help you retain steering control as you come to a stop.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
EBD can help you control your ride with confidence.
This dynamic system balances braking forces at each wheel to help you maintain confident control during sudden braking.
Brake Assist (BA)
When there's a sudden sea of red tail lights ahead of you, Brake Assist can help. It senses emergency braking and if you're not braking hard enough, it will apply maximum force to help you avoid a collision.
